Problems With Our Water Supply in Ilmington

Residents of Ilmington have endured repeated interruptions to their water supply in recent weeks during a period with some of the hottest temperatures on record. Not surprisingly, complaints have been raised with our local supplier, Severn Trent Water, and the issue was discussed at the parish council meeting on 4 August.

The good news is that there has been a response. Severn Trent is sending a letter to all customers in the village describing the steps it is taking to deal with the problem. They have drawn up plans to replace the water system in the village with modern high diameter pipes and work is expected to start in October. A copy of the letter is provided below. They are also holding a drop-by session at Ilmington Village Hall, Foxcote Hill on Weds 31 August between 4pm and 7pm, when you can meet their senior team working on the village’s water supply and ask any questions.
