Information from Stratford on Avon District Council:
The Government has requested councils to submit their proposals for local government reorganisation – bringing council services currently split across county and districts/boroughs together under the same authority.
A survey has today been launched to encourage the public, businesses, voluntary and community groups as well as town and parish councils, to share their thoughts on local government reorganisation in Warwickshire.
Each of the district and borough councils (except Rugby) agreed at their meetings in July, that their preferred option was to reduce all the councils in Warwickshire – county, district and borough – down to two: one in the north and one in the south.
Before councillors submit their final recommendation to government in November, this questionnaire provides the opportunity for all to share their views on this preferred option and to shape the future of local government.
Take a look at the proposals and have your say: www.shapingourcouncils.co.uk.
The consultation is open from now until Sunday 14 September.
