Who Are We?

The parish council is the level of local government closest to the community. As a statutory body, it exists to represent and support the local area. Our councillors are elected volunteers who dedicate their time to addressing the issues that matter most to residents.

What Do We Do?

Ilmington Parish Council plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the village for the benefit of everyone. We manage and care for:

  • 🌳 Village greens
  • ⚽ Playing fields
  • 🎠 Playgrounds
  • 🏡 Ilmington Pavilion

We also work with local community groups and liaise with the district and county councils on key matters such as road safety and planning applications.

Why Join the Parish Council?

Becoming a councillor is a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Represent the views of your neighbours.
  • Help maintain and enhance our village.
  • Influence decisions that impact our community.

No prior experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a commitment to making Ilmington the best it can be. You’ll work as part of a team and receive support to fulfil your role.

Get Involved

If you want to contribute to the success of our village, we’d love to hear from you.

Please feel free to get in touch with any councillor for an informal chat about the work of the council. Councillor contact details are published on noticeboards and on the website.

Residents are always welcome to see what the council does by coming to a meeting, which usually take place at 7:30pm on the last Thursday of the month in Ilmington Community Shop Café.

To check your eligibility or apply to join the council, please contact clerk@ilmington-pc.gov.uk.

Let’s work together to ensure Ilmington continues to thrive!
