Ilmington Horticultural Society
Ilmington’s Horticultural Society does not have members but its committee organises garden visits and events such as plant sales that are open to all.
President: Miss Irene Sabin
The Society, which is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society, dates back to 1923 so this year it celebrates its 102nd anniversary with two flower shows and spring and summer, plant stalls, lectures and garden visits which are open to all.

Plant Sales 2025
The Society organises two sales of home-grown plants, one in April to coincide with the Spring Flower Show and the other in May when village gardens open for the National Garden Scheme. The perennials, shrubs, annuals etc are proven successes in local gardens and proceeds go to fund future Society events.
Shows 2025
This year’s Annual Show will take place on Monday 25 August 2025 at Ilmington Playing Fields on the Mickleton Road. Admission to the Horticultural marquee is free.
Anyone can enter whether they live in Ilmington or outside the village and there are special classes for children so all the family can join in. Schedules and entry forms are available at Ilmington Community Shop and on this website (<Schedule> <Entry form>).
You don’t have to be an expert grower, cook or artist but this is a real competition with trophies to be won. Have a go and enjoy producing the best flowers, vegetables, jams, cakes, wines, photos, and art and crafts.
Please contact the Secretary Tim Allen ilmhortsoc@gmail.com if you would like to know more about the show or any of our other events.
